Derek is the founder of Dharma Investments, advising triple bottom line enterprises on capital raising and business development and impact investors on their portfolios, in particular related to NbS, regenerative agri-food systems and decarbonization technologies. He was recently a Sustainable Land Use Consultant at UNEP FI, working with banks and agro stakeholders on adopting deforestation free financial instruments. Derek co-founded Awí Superfoods, a food-for-good-tech promoting regenerative nutrition through agroforestry and superfoods, one of the WEF’s Amazon Bioeconomy Challenge winners. Beginning his career at JPMorgan, he has two decades of experience in impact and angel investing, M&A, capital raising, turnarounds, and SME finance. Derek has a B.A. from Duke University, a Sustainable Finance Certificate from CISL and was an Anthony Robbins Platinum Partner.
