Alexandre Borde
Alexandre started his career as an environmental economist at the World Bank before joining the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN in 1997 working on environment and natural resources management. After a PhD in economics from the university of Versailles, he worked as lead environmental economist of a DG Research funded project on natural disasters risk management and he published a book on the economic impacts of climate change and natural disasters. On a regular basis, he collaborates as Senior Expert on development projects related to climate change adaptation, mitigation, disaster risk reduction, and renewable energy with multiple entities such as the USAID, UNDP, JICAc or the European Commission. He is also consulted on topics such as the EU Energy Climate policy and legislation, by various countries to prepare the Climate COPs or to set up national climate funds in relation to the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Since August 2015, he is an expert of the Registration and Issuance Team to the CDM Executive Board of the UNFCCC.
